Ipoh Class Trip 2.0

Hey I'm back! I guess I have not been updating my blog since long time ago. Not guessing, it was very long time ago indeed hahaha. I was too busy with my schedule for the past 4 months. Busying prepared my exam and trying hard to squeeze some time to sleep in between :( But my year 1 is ending in 2 weeks time yay! Cheers for more sleeping time!

Now I am having my 1 week raya break. Holiday is never enough despite its duration. I have been longing for go on a holiday for very long time but I could not find the time as my holidays were very short. Finally now is the opportunity (hehehe) We were planning for our second class trip on this raya break. Our final destination of the plan is Keng's hometown- Ipoh. Too bad Keng was not with us this time :( But anyway there are more to come in the future! We stayed there for 3D2N. The feeling without books for 3 days was awesome but feeling guilty at the same time. I have to catch up on the remaining days before school reopens as exam is approaching soon *criesss*

DAY 1

We headed to Ipoh by ETS, the intercity ktm. We reached Ipoh around 11am. The journey from KL to Ipoh took around 2.5 hours. This was my first ETS experience and it was great!

Our train departing soon.

This was how our train looks like.

Wei Jan proved that we have been here xD

We rented a car for 3 days for our convenience to drive around Ipoh. Thank God we managed to get one as it was peak season and majority of the car rental were fully booked. *phew* Before we checked in, we went for our lunch at Jalan Theater. As Keng suggested, we had chicken rice for our lunch. Frankly speaking, I am not a fan of chicken rice so I do not know it tasted good or bad hahaha sorry for this.

The dishes we had were the chickens and bean sprouts. These are the typical dishes you will get when you having chicken rice. Looking good.

After lunch, we decided to try out the famous tau fu fa at Ipoh. We went to a shop named Woong Kee at Jalan Ali. They have the best tau fu fa I have ever had. The smoothness of the bean curd, oh my. You will definitely want to have another one again. The shop opened at 1pm. But before that you can already see people lining up for the satisfaction of their stomach. Good things are worth the wait *winks*

The staffs were busying prepare all the ingredients before shop opens. They are friendly and ready to serve the best food to you. You must definitely try this out when you are at Ipoh.

This bowl of tau fu fa is smoother than my face. I have a bowl of tau fu fa with brown sugars syrup. They have different flavors of tau fu fa too but I chose the one I always eaten. Sometimes, simplicity is the answer. (Sorry for being philosophy here hahahha)

After we have filled our stomach with the bowl of mouth-watering, then it's time for check in! Our accomodation was a little far from the Ipoh city. It was located nearby Gunung Lang Rekreasi. Overall environment was good.

In the evening time, we drove to Gua Tempurung. It is a famous spot located at Gopeng for both locals and tourists. The last entry is 4.15pm and we reached there by 3.45pm. We were afraid that we could not make it for the last tour of the day and was thinking of back up plans in case we were not allowed to enter anymore but fortunately we reached there on time. Hahaha we were a little bit crazy as we made this decision of going to Gua Tempurung at last minute. Now is the time for us to do some crazy stuffs. If not now then when? In another way, we call it YOLO!

They have many packages available for the customers but only 2 were available at the time we arrived. Hence, we went for the hardest among 2. The ticket entrance fee for our package is 12 per person provided you are a Malaysian with IC shown upon purchase.

Below the explanation of our package wrote that we have to climb 660 staircases up but 660 staircases were not that much as what you imagine. It took us 45 minutes for the whole journey up to the top of Gua Tempurung and back to the ground. In fact it should be longer than 45 minutes but there were not any tour guide to guide us along so we only took half of the time.

The best award of photo-boomed goes to the uncle on the right.

The roof of Gua Tempurung.

Creation of God *wows*

The only thing I like about Gua Tempurung is the wind tunnel. The wind was chill and made me want to stay there longer. The peculiar part about the wind tunnel is that you can only feel the wind at only one direction. It is of the theory of physics, diffraction. I started to love physics hahaha it is fun! Is it too late for me?

After 1320 of staircases, we have used up half of our energy. To compensate for the energy loss, we eat again. Due to raya holiday, many of the restaurants were not open. We searched for quite a long time for our dinner and finally we decided to go further up to Kampar for food hunt. Kampar is famous for its curry chicken bread. We went to a restaurant as we all craved for this curry chicken bread. But the service was really bad. We have waited for quite a long time but nobody served us.

This was their curry chicken. Ermm it was average for me. The bread is quite burned at top.

All the satisfaction look after having food haha! And Amelia has discovered a secret while everybody was eating. *shhhh* (please find Alan)

It was a long journey back from Kampar to Ipoh. Plus the traffic was a little congested at that night. We sang in the car and reminisced our childhood songs hahahah. Pity Alan for his ears *hear-no-evil emoji inserts* After we went back to Ipoh, we headed to Tong Shui Kai for dessert. The street was so crowded at that night. We found no place to sit for quite long. Jacqueline and I was actually grabbing a seat initially and we gave up finally. We discovered a popiah stall on the way to toilet and queuing up for that instead xD And the popiah did not disappoint us! It was real tasty. *thumbs up x10* It was worth our time queuing up for that. *yums*

This is their stall.

Popiah in process!

Ta da! Our popiah. According to Jacq, you have to eat by one bite. The taste was really different by eating in this way. Extra delicious! The essence of popiah are the sauces. Do you agree with me?

This ends our day 1. The total length of the post is quite long so I decided to split it into different parts. Stay tuned for part 2! Hope you enjoyed reading. Happy holiday!

*some of the photos are contributed by Alan, Shyang Yi and Jacqueline. Thank you! <3 *

Love,
See Qing.
