Food Hunt in Damansara Uptown
Hola! I am currently on my first year break. My initial plan was to do all my revision during this holiday but plan will always remain as a plan. Till today, I did nothing except daydreaming and my break is ending this week! Why can the time fly so fast?! I wish you could slow down to the speed of a walking tortoise cause I really don't want to wake up early in the morning :(
I dreamed of having a food hunt session with my girls so I decided to make it real! And yeah, we went for food hunt in Damansara Uptown yesterday. I would call that place a food paradise as you can find food anywhere within that area. Who can resist the calling of delicacies? Wherever there is food, there will be lots of people. When there are lots of people, there will be lots of car too. When there are lots of car, you can't really find a spot to park. That's the most headache part. If you can't find a parking, then you won't be able to get down from the car and buy your food. But thank God for the newly opened mall, The Starling Mall. There are plenty of parking bays available in the mall and we decided to park our cars there. I think this is what most people will do when they go to Uptown.
The only thing I knew about this mall is the MBO cinema. They say the MBO cinema in The Starling Mall has the biggest screen in the country but I didn't have a peek to it hehehe. But the overall design of the mall is really astonishing. I didn't take much picture as Evon and I were actually strolling while waiting for the rest to come.
How funny it is we cut down the trees but build a nature themed mall. I would prefer go to a park instead where the O2 is fresher there hehe.
Now is the main dish! The appetizer doesn't really look appetizing. I know that. We went to 5 places in 6 hours today. That's really a real cafe hopping where we hopped from one place to another place. Our main purpose was to try all the food we listed. I literally have a food coma after all the food I have eaten. I have never eaten so much food in a day. That's a new achievement for me. One more tick off in my bucket list ;)
First, we went to the famous nasi lemak restaurant, Village Park. Their nasi lemak is really the best in town. Nothing overrated. It is a little pricey for a plate of nasi lemak but it's worth trying. RM10.40 for nasi lemak ayam goreng. If you wish to satisfy your cravings, you may consider reaching that restaurant earlier than lunch hour as the restaurant is really packed at that hour and you might not get a seat at all.
Weeee it was a delectable meal. The main character of the nasi lemak for me is the sambal. And I would give a thumb for that. A little spicy for me but it is a perfect combination with the rice and ayam goreng. We order syrup cincau for drink. It tasted good, not too sweet, just the diameter of the straw is a little too small xD
Next station, Tsujiri. It is a place made for Mandy. Her favourite matcha all under one roof.
We ordered this for RM18.90. The best matcha ice cream I have ever tasted. Out of so many toppings in the cup, matcha ice cream is my only favourite hehe. I think I would just order ice cream next time.
Look at the displays at the counter π *I'm drooling* Just for your information, they are all made by plastic xD Not available for human beings.
Evon: quick! My hand is freezing!
Who still care about the camera when food is in front of us. π I like the ambiance of this cafe. They have this special Japan-style dining room for 4 people. It's a good place to talk when you hanging out with your family or friends. You can even close the door and the whole room belongs to you!
Tsujiri's merchandise on shelf.
Next station, Hail's soft serve. I was longing to visit this place long time ago as I was attracted by their colourful ice cream hehe. As a member of ice cream club, it's definitely my duty to try this out for you all ;)
Ice cream cart design. Everything is beautiful with blue. π
You can actually peek through the glass to see how they make ice cream.
They offer variety of toppings.
I would say it just normal. Nothing really special. I would prefer llao llao over it :p
RM 18.90. It's really pricey for an ice cream.
I like their interior design very much. Especially the clouds. It makes the whole environment looks so fantasy π
Model to be.
Who are you waiting for? xD
Alright, next stop would be A Pie Thing. Basically it is a place to have pies (3.14159).
I see blueberry pie π You are such a cutie pie.
Our Chicken Mushroom pie costs RM13.90 with gravy. Not a fan of pie but will definitely try out other flavour next time.
As we don't have much time left, we quickly set off to our next destination, Haraju Cube. It is located at different place called Empire Damansara. This was my first visit to this place. Quite surprisingly a place that I have never been before can be so familiar to me. You will know why later. But before we headed to Haraju Cube, we have a photoshoot session first.
For a moment, I thought I was in Ipoh aha!
Evon was making her wish. Does this background look familiar to you? xD
Mandy says this photo is so 'Eunice'. What do you think? xD
Another potential model here.
Sexy baby. π This wall is really photogenic.
Our 'wedding photo' xD
The logo gives me a igloo feeling from this angle.
Our Caramel-Honey toast costs RM25.90. A little expensive for me but it's okay once in awhile. The honey comb on top is too sweet for me. I like the vanilla ice cream hehe. Personally I don't like bread but the aroma of the toast was alluring! They cut the toast into 8 little cubes and put inside the 'toast frame'. The toast is so good and soft! I recommend this place if you think of going somewhere for dessert.
I realized they like to take photo π
Are you familiar with this background? This was one of the famous tourist spot in KL. Yeah, I use was because we are a bit out dated haha.
Okay, this photo is so 'Eunice' again according to Mandy xD
That's all for my one-day trip in PJ. If I didn't spend so much on food, I think I do be rich now. Hope you enjoyed reading! Till we meet again! :)
Love,
See Qing.
